Life Sciences

The highest concentration of life scientists in Europe is to be found in the Aberdeen area.

Dr. Deborah O'Neill, Managing Director and Chief Scientific Officer, Novabiotics

Deborah O'Niell - Managing Director of Novabiotics."Aberdeen's exciting and dynamic biotechnology sector is most certainly something of which the city and shire can be proud.

The future has never looked brighter for life science in the area and NovaBiotics is proud to be a part of Aberdeen's already internationally renowned, rapidly emerging  biotechnology cluster.

Biotechnology and life science is recognised as one of, if not the most important high growth industry sectors for Scotland's economy and is most certainly being championed as such in Aberdeen.

The support on offer from the Aberdeen based enterprise agencies, our fellow local life science companies and the Aberdeen city and Shire life science network and forum, both financial and practical, has been key in creating an environment in which biotechnology can prosper and ensuring that the Aberdeen based companies live up to and deliver on their phenomenal promise.

A pool of some of the best scientists from, networks and links with Aberdeen's two world class Universities ensures the very best in human and many other vital resources for Aberdeen's biotechnology companies. That the sector is thriving despite the size and dominance of the energy and food and drink sectors is testament to the local environment and the companies within.
The quality of life on offer in Aberdeen City and Shire, attractive and cost-effective commercial property options combined with excellent transport links completes the ideal package provided by area as a site of choice for biotechnology and life science."
