Aberdeen City Council.Aberdeen City Council works with a wide range of local, national and international partners with the aim of maintaining the economic prosperity experienced by the region over the last three decades.

The Council plays an important role as a major provider of the business infrastructure essential to help the private sector achieve the required levels of economic growth.

The Council provides advice to business on a diverse range of issues from accommodation solutions, childcare provision and patent applications to event management, licensing, planning and waste management regulations.

The Aberdeen Business Enterprise Scheme, operated by the Council, provides financial assistance to companies located within the city. The scheme targets assistance at companies whose growth has the potential to positively affect the economy of Aberdeen and the North East.

Aberdeenshire Council.Aberdeenshire Council offers assistance through its Support for Aberdeenshire Business (SAB) scheme, which strengthens the area’s economy by assisting in the development of new businesses and by encouraging the expansion of existing ones.

The scheme places importance on businesses selling outwith the area or attracting investment to Aberdeenshire. SAB offers practical business advice and discretionary financial assistance, in the form of loans and grants, to both new and existing businesses throughout Aberdeenshire.

The grant scheme offers assistance with training, marketing, rent, job creation, and implementation of quality systems and attendance at trade fairs. There are also grants to help businesses implement more sustainable working practices and assistance can also be made through Enterprise North East Trust and Scottish Enterprise Grampian.
