Aberdeen City and Shire is a fast becoming a shopping haven offering a different
shopping experience from that offered in the central belt. The city offers a more
compact and accessible shopping experience, while still housing the major
brands and some unique retailers to the country.
Our retail message is strong, with the city's retail offering making a significant impact in 2009. Shops already located in the city are opening new larger stores. The city is home to the largest Next store in the country situated in the Bon Accord Centre and the first Apple store outside London will be housed in the new Union Square development.
Aberdeen City Shopping Centres:
- The Bon Accord & St Nicholas Centre
- The Mall Aberdeen
- The Academy
- The Galleria in the West-end
- The Aberdeen indoor Market
Aberdeen City Shopping Areas:
The main shopping street in Aberdeen city is Union street, which houses large retail brands and some local independent stores. Travel to the market street end of Union Street and you will have access to the St Nicholas Centre which leads into the Bon Accord Centre and John Lewis.
The west end of Union Street steers away from the major brands and offers shoppers an array of independent local stores, selling designer clothes and shoes to artwork, sports wear and food & drink.
Other areas within Aberdeen city offering shoppers a change from the high street include the Rosemount area, which houses independent cafes, bakers, butchers and fish shops to home stores and charity shops.
