Aberdeen City
Aberdeen Sports Council is an Independent Sports Body within the City of Aberdeen, dealing with a complexity of local sporting matters. The Executive Committee are volunteers involved in a wide range of sporting activities in the area.
The Councils main objectives are:
- promote interest and participation in sport and recreation
- assist in co-ordinating the activities of the various sports and recreational organisations within Aberdeen
- assist with the formation of sports clubs and recreational organisations where non exist
- award grants to sportsmen, women and children within Aberdeen and help them in their pursuit of excellence
Aberdeenshire
Aberdeenshire Sports Council is one of the most progressive and active sports councils in the country. Established in 1996 it is managed by volunteers from the local sporting community who bring with them a wide range of knowledge, skills and expertise.
The Council works to:
- encourage sporting activity in area
- develop and promote all sports in the area
- provide advice, support and assistance to affiliated clubs/organisations in Aberdeenshire
